Today is a HAPPY Day

Reason #2: We won GOLD!!!

Remember my posting when I was complaining that my boss gave us the task of winning a STAR in the national contest. Well we won GOLD!!

So happy cos I put in alot of effort and hard work into it =)

PS: But nothing beat getting pretty photos of myself hahahahahha

Is there fairness in life?

I finally got my promotion letter today and ok lar ... its not fantastic but just reasonable increament. Nothing to be too happy or celebrate about.

But I was really affected BADLY and BIG time ... when I was going thr the promotion listing ... I saw a name that surprised me. This gal joined like 1.5yr ago ... I must say that she is q a nice and easy going gal and v young. Those born in the 80's type and she is PROMOTED TOO!!!

To be very honest I totally have nothing to against her but I am now questioning the fairness of the whole appraisal system.

When I was a young officer ... they tell me that I am too young to get promoted after 2yrs.

When I was there for 3-4 yrs ... for some damn stupid incident where I stepped on the toe of my big big boss ... I was condemned and into the BLACK list I went and stayed!!

A special someone must have pitied me and I had a change of portfoilio ... and finally I was out of the cold storage room. They said that even though I did perform but it was only for the 6mth that I changed my portfoilio. BLOODY HELL lar ... you mean my last 4 years sit there and do nothing mer!!! All the initiatives that the officer took over from me STARTED from me ok!!! Then I tell myself ... ok lor since you say that I will prove to you lor

But fate has a strange way of playing prank on me or rather I was so blessed that I got preg hiak ... puke for 40 weeks ... cant work so as usual - got a lousy rating.

So 2006 came and I finally proved myself that I deserve a promotion!! Good lar you must say ... but my poor colleague who came in the same year as I did ... didnt get her promo ... I was disappointed but I though ... stupid quota system!!

But now that I see a 1.5yr of service gal ... young and not much experience ... with no major project or achievement made plus she just got married (hey we get penalised for taking time off to get married oso k) getting a promotion which I had to take SEVEN bloody years to prove and my poor fren didnt even get it ... where is the fairness in the system?

There are so many of us in the dept who is not doing any less than that gal ... dun we deserve something too?!?

Truely disappointing I must say ... suppose to be very happy today but not so happy afterall =(

Finally ....

Well I know that I have disappeared for a SUPER DUPER long time hiak hiak but really its cos I cant access blogger and blogspot in my office any more *sickening* and I am simply too tired and lazy to log in after work to update =(

Anyway I am super super busy at work these days ... ok cfm that I will be getting my promotion *FINALLY* and thanks to that ... I am loaded with more and more work but I cant complain right ... at least got promotion hahahahahhaa

Valentine Day Dinner

Made a date with Ah Guang for V-day dinner but we decided to go on 13 Feb instead of 14 Feb for TWO reasons:

1) I wanted to use the 1-for-1 voucher at the Market Cafe so 13 Feb was the nearest dates to V-day that was avail.
2) I wanted to go facial and my beautician was only free on V-day.

The food was ok but if not for the one-for-one voucher, its def NOT WORTH $42+++.

We had an enjoyable dinner though we miss YC lots!!

Be a Responsible Princess

Well this post is speically for my princess ... ...

Know that you very much want to pursue your belief and go into it full time but at the end of the day ~ a belief is afterall something that is intangible, only YOU can experience its 'real-ness'.

However, our parents are REAL, standing before you in flesh and blood! You cant discredit the time and effort that they have spend on you for the past years. And you know that Dad gives in to you the most among the 3 of us.

They are supportive of your belief as long as it does not compromise on the wishes and hopes that they have pinned on you.

And at the end of the day, practicality prevails my princess and be responsible to the people that you love and love you!
